Sets or retrieves the width of the object. Syntax HTML | N/A |
---|
Scripting | object.style.pixelWidth [ = iWidth ] |
---|
Possible Values iWidth | Integer that
specifies or receives the width, in pixels. |
The property is read/write.
The property has no default value. The Microsoft Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) extension is
not inherited.
Expressions can be used in place of the preceding value(s), as of Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5. For more information, see About Dynamic Properties.
Remarks Setting this property changes the value of the width without changing the units designator. Unlike the width property, the pixelWidth value is an integer, not a string, and is always interpreted in pixels. For more information about how to access the dimension and location of objects on the page through the Dynamic HTML (DHTML) Document Object Model (DOM), see Measuring Element Dimension and Location.
Example
This example uses a timer to increment the pixelWidth property. <SCRIPT>
function scaleThis()
{
if (sphere.style.pixelWidth <900) {
sphere.style.pixelWidth += 4;
sphere.style.pixelHeight +=4;
window.setTimeout("scaleThis();", 1);
}
}
:
</SCRIPT> This feature requires Microsoft® Internet Explorer 4.0 or later. Click the following icon to install the latest version. Then reload this page to view the sample.
